Super nice place. Tried plain bannock - delicious!
A must try in Alert Bay. I had the bannock and soup. Both items were fresh, piping hot and tasty. Friendly service and great bannock served in all kinds of creative ways.
It might sound crazy to suggest it but Dutchess' Bannock with whipped cream and fruit coulis is well worth the trip from the lower mainland. The host is such a charming friendly person I felt sad to leave her little snack shack. After spending some time in Yalis - Alert Bay I came to realize the openness and friendly generosity found at Dutchess' restaurant is the normal cultural character of the 'Namgis People. What a treasure.
One of our Alert Bay highlights was meeting Duchess who provided us with lumberjack portions, humorous stories and her bannock was the best !
Was closed and looked like it was for sale. Disappointed was looking forward to trying.
